We are a thriving, multispecialty dermatology practice serving Western Massachusetts and surrounding communities for over 70 years. We provide unparalleled and compassionate care in a warm, cooperative team-based environment. With four locations and a broad range of general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services, our in-demand practice is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to complement our exceptional team.
The successful Advanced Practice Provider will be an essential member of the clinical team, along with nine physicians, seven physician assistants, and full clinical and administrative support staff.
The position is on-site, with a preference for full-time employment. Our primary office is in Springfield, MA, with satellite locations in Longmeadow, Northampton, and Westfield.
Essential Functions
· The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner maintains the standards of professional practice, and demonstrates competence for patient care through continuous assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and education
· The PA or NP is responsible for providing medical care as delegated by the physicians, and may see patients incident-to practice MDs, or maintain his/her own panel
· He/she assesses patient health, and prescribes and administers medications as needed
· In connection with such services, prepares in a timely manner all billings, reports, claims, and correspondence in the form and manner required by the practice and its affiliated organizations
· Cultivates trust with and compassion for patients
· Provides six to eight clinical care sessions per week of direct, face-to-face patient care, with potential for telehealth visits. A care session is defined as 4 hours of on-site availability for direct patient care
· Has two sessions of administrative time without direct patient care scheduled; however, such administrative time may be used intermittently to provide temporary clinical coverage as well as for other functions such as meetings, mandatory trainings, etc.
· Works collaboratively and respectfully with all staff, peers, and departments
