Program Overview
Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) Fellows are AmeriCorps members who serve at nonprofit and government agencies across Northern California to build and strengthen sustainable community engagement initiatives. The program focuses on reducing social isolation, increasing volunteer participation, and expanding infrastructure for climate action and disaster preparedness awareness. Each N2N Fellow is placed at a single Host Site, where they serve primarily “behind-the-scenes” to design and implement systems that enable meaningful volunteer engagement, support the development of Neighborhood Leaders, and respond to local needs. Fellows work to build volunteer infrastructure, create pathways for neighbor-to-neighbor connection, and promote long-term community resilience. In tandem with this systems-focused work, Fellows actively engage with the local community to build relationships, understand community dynamics, and inform inclusive and intentional engagement strategies.  N2N Fellows are part of a 20-member cohort, serving in pairs at Host Sites across the region. Throughout their service term, Fellows participate in regular collaboration, professional development, and AmeriCorps training to support their growth and impact.
