You will receive training from our mindfulness, nutrition and behavioral health counselors. Work closely with our orthopedic surgeon team to deepen your knowledge of musculoskeletal treatment.

SpineZone is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant that will be part of the SpineZone team.

Supervisory Responsibility

There is no supervisory responsibility for this position.

Essential job functions:

  • Verifies insurance coverage and obtains precertification for all referrals
  • Submits orders for imaging and obtains insurance approval
  • Schedules procedures with multiple hospitals and surgery centers using different software programs
  • Assists in obtaining medical clearance
  • Schedule preoperative and postoperative appointments as needed
  • Assists with busy phones, prepares surgical packets, and scanning into EHR
  • Pharmacy call backs
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area and within scope of practice
  • Daily Organization-Monitors patient flow, physician schedules and completes daily tasks to ensure quality and meet service standards
  • Able to respond to changing circumstances and prioritize patient needs
  • Maintains appropriate supply levels
  • Copay/Insurance collections
  • Billing coding
  • Documents patient care events in a thorough and accurate manner
  • Partners with physician to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base
  • Organizes and completes daily requirements and responsibilities
  • Telephone Message Management - Ensures prompt efficient return of messages
  • Ensures readiness of reports and information and information to maximize patient visit
  • Knowledge of insurance, utilization review, scheduling requirements and support of front desk responsibilities
  • All other related duties assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Required Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant program
  • CPR Certification

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive

  • Demonstrate typing skills proficiency by: Using a keyboard, required to type proficiently and accurately; Have the ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors; Have the ability to proofread work

Compensation Range, DOE (Hourly, Non-Exempt):

$21.00 - $26.00
