Civil Design Specialist

Contract Length:** 1-Year (Fully On-Site)

Position Overview

As a Civil Design Specialist, you will develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. You will assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisable.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a staff advisor and consultant for technical specialties, facilities, equipment, or program functions.
• Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices across broad areas of assignments.
• Make independent decisions on complex engineering problems and methods.
• Represent the organization in conferences to address significant questions, plan, and coordinate work.
• Use advanced techniques to modify and extend theories, principles, and practices in civil engineering and related disciplines.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers when applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Master’s degree desirable.
• Membership in professional and technical societies is desirable.
• Demonstrated progressive experience in civil design and engineering roles.
