🏗 About the Company

Our client is a national leader in forensic engineering and failure analysis, trusted by attorneys, insurance companies, and manufacturers for over five decades to uncover the “why” when things fail.

They employ curious, lifelong learners and value a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development. If you’re ready to apply your civil or structural engineering expertise to complex investigations and high-impact work, this is the opportunity for you.

🔍 What You’ll Do

As a Forensic Civil / Structural Engineer, you’ll investigate how and why civil or structural systems fail — applying your design and field experience to real-world cases.

  • Conduct field investigations involving civil-site environments, infrastructure, and large-scale land developments
  • Analyze design and construction deficiencies related to grading, drainage, stormwater systems, utilities, pavements, and hardscape structures
  • Prepare and review civil/site construction plans for regulatory bodies (FDOT, water management districts, municipalities)
  • Conduct unbiased forensic investigations for legal, insurance, and industrial clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and technical expertise
  • Write clear, well-documented engineering reports that explain causes and solutions in plain language
  • Provide expert testimony in support of your conclusions when needed
  • Stay current in your field through training, professional societies, and continuing education

🧠 What You Bring

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred)
  • P.E. license required
  • 5+ years of civil/site development or structural design experience
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and client-facing confidence
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-driven and able to manage projects independently
  • Interest in forensic engineering, investigation, and expert consulting

💪 Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 50% locally and 20% overnight
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and access rooftops
  • Maneuver in confined or partially constructed spaces
  • Drive and occasionally fly to inspection sites on short notice
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required

🌟 Benefits & Perks

  • Comprehensive forensic training and mentorship
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage (with company-match HSA plan)
  • 401(k) + Roth IRA with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays emphasizing work-life balance
  • Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
  • Tuition reimbursement for continuing education
  • Annual performance bonus program

🚀 Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Investigate real-world structural and civil failures — no two cases are the same
  • Work alongside industry experts and mentors who value your development
  • Gain rare experience in failure analysis, expert testimony, and forensic consulting
  • Enjoy a supportive, employee-focused culture that prioritizes learning and career growth

🧩 Ready to Uncover the “Why”?

If you’re a Civil or Structural Engineer (P.E.) who thrives on problem-solving, analysis, and making a tangible impact, this is your chance to step into the fascinating world of forensic engineering.

👉 Apply today to join a team that’s uncovering the truth behind every failure — and advancing the future of engineering excellence.
