Job Description: Construction Accountant

About Us
We are a general and electrical contractor based in Bellevue, WA, seeking a skilled and dedicated Construction Accountant to manage our day-to-day accounting functions. This role is pivotal in bringing our accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations in-house for cost-efficiency and enhanced control.

Position Overview
The Construction Accountant will handle AP/AR processes, ensure accurate job and cost coding, and support the company’s financial operations independently. Proficiency in Sage 100 and ProCore is essential, along with a strong background in construction accounting. Flexibility during month-end is crucial to meet project deadlines and reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage AP/AR processes, including invoice entry, payment processing, and collections.
• Perform job costing, cost coding, and phase coding to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
• Reconcile accounts and prepare monthly financial reports.
• Collaborate with project managers to track and analyze construction budgets.
• Maintain and update financial records in Sage 100 and ProCore.
• Provide financial support during month-end to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Utilize Microsoft 365 tools for documentation and communication.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and consultants.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in construction accounting.
• Proficiency in Sage 100 and ProCore.
• Strong understanding of job costing, cost coding, and phase coding.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Advanced competency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Flexibility in work hours with availability during peak periods (e.g., month-end).
• Self-starter with the ability to manage accounting functions independently.

Preferred Candidates

• Based in Latin America for time zone alignment (e.g., Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, or Brazil).
• Candidates from other regions (e.g., the Philippines) must have at least 4 hours of daily overlap with Pacific Time (PT).

Compensation

• Monthly salary range: $1,900–$2,400 USD, with potential for $2,500–$3,000 USD for highly qualified candidates.
