Hutchison PLLC is a well-established and highly regarded boutique corporate law firm headquartered in Raleigh, NC, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Attorney with five to six years of relevant commercial contracts experience to join our team. 

Hutchison’s Attorneys are a vital part of the firm, engaging in hands-on drafting, negotiating, and day-to-day client communication on a daily basis.  In addition to working with amazing colleagues, in this position you’ll assist clients who are industry leaders (particularly in the tech and biotech sectors) and are working on interesting and impactful technologies.   

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements related to the research, development, licensing, commercialization and distribution of software, products, intellectual property and technologies in the technology and life sciences spaces and the data privacy issues associated with such agreements. The candidate will possess stellar academic credentials from a high caliber law school and will have experience working with a reputable firm in a similar practice area and focus area as Hutchison.

Our practice is dynamic and you’ll gain a ton of experience, quickly. Here’s what you’ll do on any given day at Hutchison: 

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, software licenses, SaaS agreements, development agreements, terms of service, material transfer agreements, sponsored research agreements, reseller, OEM, and channel partner agreements. 
• Provide legal advice and support on issues related to intellectual property protection, data privacy, and information security. 
• Assist with transactional due diligence and advice regarding contractual matters. 

Qualifications:  

• JD from an accredited, high caliber law school. 
• Five to six years of experience as a contracts attorney with a focus on commercial contracts 
• Strong academic and professional credentials. 
• Commitment to responsiveness and client service. 
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of complex matters. 
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and also work independently and pro-actively without micromanagement. 
• Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professional integrity.
