The Role

As our Creative Director of Marketing , you will be the driving force behind our brand identity, content strategy, and athlete engagement. You’ll lead a dynamic team of designers, content creators, and digital strategists, crafting compelling campaigns that inspire, engage, and drive results. This role demands a visionary leader who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment—someone who can translate brand strategy into powerful creative execution across all consumer touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute a bold creative vision that cements our position as a leader in performance athletic apparel.
  • Ensure consistency and excellence in brand storytelling across all digital, retail, and event channels.
  • Drive marketing campaigns that elevate brand awareness, ignite demand, and connect with athletes at every level.

Creative Direction & Execution

  • Oversee the development of high-impact creative assets, including digital content, photography, video, social media, and advertising.
  • Partner with product development teams to craft compelling product narratives that highlight innovation and performance.
  • Lead the content strategy for digital platforms, ensuring storytelling resonates with elite athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and brand advocates.

Athlete & Influencer Marketing

  • Cultivate strong relationships with professional athletes, brand ambassadors, and influencers to enhance credibility and reach.
  • Develop athlete-driven campaigns and activations that showcase the performance edge of our products.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, retail, and digital teams to align marketing initiatives with business goals.

Event & Sponsorship Activation

  • Oversee creative execution for brand-sponsored events, competitions, and athlete activations.
  • Drive engagement through experiential marketing and on-site brand storytelling.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Utilize analytics and consumer insights to optimize marketing strategies and campaign performance.
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring maximum impact and ROI for all creative initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Proven success leading marketing teams and executing impactful brand campaigns.
  • Expertise in competitive sports culture , with a strong understanding of swimming, CrossFit, and performance athletics.
  • Deep digital marketing knowledge , with hands-on experience in content creation, social media engagement, and influencer marketing.
  • Strong design sensibility and experience collaborating with creative teams (graphic designers, photographers, videographers).
  • Tech skills : Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills , with the ability to inspire teams and drive creative excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Note: Your original qualification was Computer Science/Information Systems—let me know if this needs adjusting).
  • 10+ years of experience in creative marketing, branding, or content strategy, preferably in performance athletic apparel and footwear.
