Our client is seeking motivated professionals to work as Direct Support Professionals in the Fredericksburg, King George, Stafford, and Spotsylvania areas.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF OPPORTUNITY
* Dispense and record resident medications.
* Record residents’ progress notes and communicates resident’s behavior to relieving staff members.
* Provide supportive level counseling and refers problems to appropriate staff members as required.
* Greet visitors and supervises visitation to the facility.
* Provide timely and accurate documentation of Individual Service Plans, telephone contacts, funding requirements.
* Performssupportive and administrative tasks to include cooking meals, kitchen clean up, running errands for residents, picking up supplies and medications, assisting with daily facility clean up.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
* Considerable knowledge of the practices and methods related to the instruction of intellectually disabled adults including behavior management, independent living skills training and supportive counseling; considerable knowledge of human rights of the individuals.
* Minimum of 1-2 year experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities
* Valid Driver's License
* Ability to complete and pass clearances: FBI, Child Abuse (ACT 126), and Criminal
* Must be able to produce current medical/health documents including: physical examination, Tuberculosis/TB Skin Test, CPR, and First Aid certification
* Experience in community based residential programs (preferred)
* Persons with experience in the following roles are welcome to apply: Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Home Care, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Companion, Caregiver, and Patient Care Technician (PCT)
