Job Description

Currently have a need for head of corporate development.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the relevant market and industry participants to inform strategic prioritization.
  • Drive market analysis across regions and sub-sectors, identifying potential acquisition and new build opportunities.
  • Manage an active pipeline of opportunities aligned with investment criteria and growth objectives.
  • Deliver comprehensive market studies and target analyses with actionable recommendations.

Acquisition Transactions

  • Participate in the entire acquisition process—from sourcing and origination through due diligence, documentation, and transaction completion.
  • Lead key aspects of transactions, including opportunity evaluation, LOI negotiation, due diligence coordination, and documentation review.
  • Develop and implement best practice processes for acquisitions, including the preparation of complex financial models and investment cases for executive review.
  • Support integration planning and execution to ensure a seamless transition post-acquisition.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective execution throughout the acquisition process.

Integration of Acquisitions

  • Collaborate with integration teams to develop detailed integration and risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensure that all critical due diligence elements are incorporated and validated by relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for executive committees, addressing all key integration risks prior to transaction closing.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions of acquired entities, with measurable improvements and resolution of identified issues.
  • Capture and implement best practices to continuously enhance the integration process.

New Build Projects

  • Support the analysis of financial and operational data to develop robust business cases for new build projects.
  • Construct financial models and prepare board-level presentations for investment recommendations.
  • Contribute innovative solutions to address challenges while safeguarding the organization’s interests.

Strategic Studies

  • Assist in planning and executing strategic studies focused on growth, market prioritization, and capital deployment.
  • Deliver concise, well-supported recommendations that align with overall corporate development strategies.
  • Ensure that capital is deployed in a cost-efficient manner to maximize returns.

People Management and Leadership

  • Mentor and manage a team of Corporate Development Analysts, fostering a positive, high-performing work environment.
  • Address performance issues proactively and contribute to the annual performance review process.
  • Build and maintain a cohesive team that consistently delivers at the highest standards in transaction execution.

Client Liaison / Customer Support

  • Represent the corporate development function in interactions with sellers, investors, advisers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Attend industry meetings, seminars, conferences, and events to enhance the organization’s external presence and relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for both internal and external partners.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Educational Background: A strong academic record with a degree from a leading university.
  • Advanced qualifications (MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent) are advantageous.
  • Professional Experience: Proven experience in deal environments, ideally in Corporate M&A, Private Equity, transaction teams within a Big 4 firm, investment banking, or top-tier management consulting.
  • Technical Skills: Outstanding analytical, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial accounting and advanced PowerPoint skills.
  • Personal Attributes: High attention to detail while maintaining a strategic overview.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the capacity to succinctly summarize complex issues.
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on driving growth
