Akkodis is hiring an Environmental Compliance Technician to support our client on a direct hire basis!

Location: Onsite in Jacumba Hot Springs, CA (1-year assignment)

Training Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA (first 2 months)

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year + Bonus + Per Diem (during training)

Daily Per Diem for Training: $125–$175

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Technician to support renewable solar energy projects. This full-time, direct hire role is based onsite in Jacumba Hot Springs, CA, with initial 2-month training provided in Santa Fe Springs, CA. During the training period, a daily per diem of $125 to $175 will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental compliance, regulatory requirements, and field inspections, particularly within construction or renewable energy industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations on renewable energy projects
  • Assist with obtaining city/county permits and approvals
  • Conduct regular site inspections for environmental compliance
  • Coordinate biological, cultural, archaeological, and tribal monitoring
  • Monitor construction/operations for compliance with SWPPP, SPCC, and BMPs
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare documentation for regulatory agencies
  • Support implementation of environmental management plans
  • Provide environmental compliance training to employees
  • Respond to and document environmental incidents such as spills or releases
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Engage with stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and the public on environmental matters

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in renewable energy or construction
  • Knowledge of CEQA, CDFW, AQMD, RWQCB, USACE, and EPA regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Experience with environmental monitoring and sampling
  • Strong communication, record-keeping, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in the field under various weather conditions
  • Understanding of hazardous waste regulations and emergency response planning

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Mix of office and fieldwork
  • Outdoor work on uneven surfaces and in various weather conditions
  • May require standing, sitting, stooping, or bending for extended periods
  • Possible exposure to industrial noise and chemicals
