Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Event and Communications Manager to plan and execute a variety of company events while driving communication efforts that enhance RDDT's visibility and engagement. This role requires a combination of strategic planning, project management, and strong communication skills to ensure the success of both events and communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will be skilled in creating engaging written and visual content tailored to specific audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan, organize, and execute various RDDT events, including monthly on-site weeks, quarterly town halls, and end-of-year celebrations.
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including speaker arrangements, presentation materials, venue selection, and catering.
  • Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and checklists to ensure smooth execution.
  • Oversee marketing campaigns to drive event attendance and engagement.

Communications Management:

  • Manage internal and external communications for various RDDT functions.
  • Create visual and written communication materials that adhere to the company's style guide.
  • Collaborate with article requestors to produce high-quality, error-free copy.
  • Distribute the monthly RDDT newsletter, targeting the right audience and gathering feedback.
  • Collaborate with the communications team lead to brainstorm content ideas aligned with the company’s strategy and goals.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communication efforts using key metrics, and provide regular performance reports.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across various communications platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate best practices into communication strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in event planning, communications, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Viva Engage, SharePoint, Lists, Canva, Adobe, PoliteMail, and Atlassian JIRA
  • Attributes:

  • Proactive, able to work under pressure, and excel in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based, but occasional travel for events, site visits, and meetings may be required. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, may also be necessary depending on event schedules.
