Job Description

Position: Excavator Operator

Location: Sarasota/Bradenton, South Florida

Job Summary: Operating an excavator to move waste, with a focus on safety and quality. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, loading/unloading materials, and moving items within designated areas while adhering to safety regulations.

Schedule:

  • Full-time position with Monday-Friday availability and occasional weekends.

Compensation:

$20 - $23 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment following all safety procedures
  • Ensure the heavy equipment remains in clean working order and promptly report any issues to the supervisor
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work area at all times
  • Move waste material to a tipper trailer or on the walking floor
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience operating excavators preferred
  • Must reside in the South Florida - Sarasota/Bradenton area.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
  • Hearing: Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools
  • Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Lifting: able to lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat or kneel
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information
  • Walking: Able to walk through the shop and other outside elements
