About the Role 

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all Company buildings are maintained in proper operating condition. This includes performing safety walks, preventive maintenance inspections, and regulatory inspections at multiple sites (Santa Clarita and Santa Monica). The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, as well as collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Must reside in a commutable distance between Santa Clarita, CA and Santa Monica CA. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform facilities maintenance activities in line with manufacturer guidelines, Company standards, and industry best practices
  • Conduct safety walks, preventive maintenance inspections, and other required facility inspections across multiple sites (Santa Clarita and Santa Monica)
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain buildings, building infrastructure, and roofing
  • Perform painting, carpentry, minor plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
  • Replace minor electrical features (e.g., receptacles, wires, switches, motors)
  • Repair walls, sinks, water coolers, toilets, flooring, steps, and sidewalks
  • Replace damaged paneling, floor tiles, doors, and windows
  • Maintain equipment, machinery, gates, and fencing
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to complete projects or specialized repairs
  • Provide updates and maintain communication with the Project Engineer through daily logs and activity reports
  • Ensure compliance with Company safety programs and regulatory inspections
  • Other duties as assigned within scope of role

What You’ll Need:

Skills:  

  • Strong understanding of general maintenance tasks with a willingness to learn new skills 
  • Familiarity with building systems: HVAC, fire protection, security/access, plumbing, electrical distribution
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they relate to the role and workplace safety standards
  • Adherence to lockout/tagout procedures, ladder safety, confined space entry protocols, and PPE requirements
  • Ability to clearly explain repair timelines and processes to operations team
  • Commitment to working collaboratively
  • Takes initiative in regular maintenance tasks to prevent emergencies
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor while engaging with others

Education :

  • High school diploma or GED required

Experience

  • 2+ years of maintenance technician experience required, in a warehouse environment strongly preferred
  • Must possess a current California Driver’s License in good standing and successfully pass pre-employment and annual Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) checks

Nice to haves:

Skills:  

  • Prior OSHA training in a warehouse environment
  • HVAC certification or licensing
  • Electrical journeyman or apprentice license
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience using CMMS/work order management software
  • Bilingual: Able to read, write and speak Spanish

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements 

  • Must be able to work in an environment with occasionally high noise levels
  • Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, sleet)
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 70 pounds
  • Frequently moves equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Regularly exposed to chemicals, cleaning supplies, and grease/oil 
  • Must be able to do repeated lifting (up to 70 pounds unassisted), bending, standing, able to extend arms, climb stairs and walk for up to 2 hours continuously
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand & arm movements - pushing, pulling, squeezing and simple grasping constantly
  • Must be able to twist, bend, squat, kneel or crawl occasionally

Competitive Compensation:  

  • The expected hourly range for this position is $23.00 to $25.00. The exact hourly rate is determined by various factors including geographic location, experience, skills, and education.
  • Discretionary Bonus Plan: This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
