Job Description

A construction machine operator, also known as a construction equipment operator, uses heavy machinery to move materials and prepare sites for construction. They also perform basic maintenance on the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Use machinery to move earth, building supplies, and other heavy materials
• Operate equipment to clear and grade land
• Prepare sites for construction of roads, bridges, buildings, and more
• Perform basic maintenance on equipment
• Ensure machines are functioning well
• Train others on how to safely use the machines

• Set up and adjust machines for production runs
• Monitor machines during operations to detect any malfunctions or irregularities
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Supply raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Check parts with precision
• Conduct tests to check the operation of machines
• Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift
