Job Description

MAU is hiring a Generator Technician for our client in Jackson, MS. As a Generator Technician, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial back-up power systems for telecommunications, emergency services, and local businesses. This is a direct-hire opportunity. This is a remote, site-based role . Candidates must live near or south of Jackson, MS , as regular travel to local client sites is required.

Shift & Location Information:

• Must be available to work flexible hours, including overnight travel as needed
• This is a remote, site-based role . Candidates must live near or south of Jackson, MS , as regular travel to local client sites is required.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Basic electrical knowledge

General Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Must pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending and twisting
• Must be dependable and able to work independently
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with shop equipment
• Proficient in a Windows-based environment (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
• Professional appearance and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• DOT medical card required

Essential Functions:

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial generators
• Troubleshoot and diagnose generator issues
• Evaluate and recommend necessary repairs
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various generator models
• Provide excellent customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

• Field-based work environment; travel required to customer sites
