ROLE OVERVIEW: Inside Sales Specialist

The Inside Sales Specialist, Security Division , plays a pivotal role in supporting a national perimeter security products business through technical inside sales, material takeoffs, quoting, and customer communication. This individual serves as the primary inside partner to the Southern Region Outside Sales Representative, ensuring accurate and timely quotes, smooth order flow, and exceptional customer experience. The role combines drawing/takeoff review, quote preparation, order management, and cross-functional coordination with Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Outside Sales. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience interpreting drawings, and exposure to construction, steel, or fencing products. This person is detail-oriented, steady under pressure, and comfortable balancing both inbound needs and active project support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Inside Sales Specialist

  • Review drawings and specifications to perform accurate perimeter takeoffs, determine required materials, and prepare detailed quotes, proposals, and pricing packages.
  • Serve as the primary inside point of contact for the Southern Region Outside Sales Representative, ensuring seamless communication, project handoff, and strong customer support.
  • Field inbound customer inquiries, clarify requirements, and communicate product features, configurations, pricing, lead times, and order terms to contractors and distributors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal partners to support sales growth and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Enter, process, and track orders from inquiry through shipment, coordinating with planning, production, customer service, and shipping teams.
  • Utilize CRM and internal systems to document activity, track opportunities, and support workflow efficiency while monitoring project timelines and providing proactive updates.
  • Stay informed on product offerings, applications, competitive alternatives, and market trends within the security solutions space.

REQUIREMENTS: Inside Sales Specialist

  • Experience reading drawings, performing takeoffs, preparing bills of material, or supporting estimating within construction, steel, metal fabrication, building products, or fencing.
  • Background in inside sales, customer support, or project coordination within an industrial or
  • manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple quotes and projects simultaneously while maintaining strong accuracy and organization.
  • Exposure to fencing, construction materials, industrial steel, or security systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear customer-facing information.
  • Proficiency with ERP/CRM or similar business systems; comfortable working in a structured, process-
  • driven environment.
  • Collaborative, mature, and professional presence with potential for future leadership responsibilities.
