About the opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Java Developer with hands-on experience in big data processing and analytics . The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and applications, leveraging Java, Python, and PySpark on Databricks and cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications for data processing and analytics.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark on Databricks for batch and streaming data.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure data quality, performance, and scalability .
• Implement data transformation, aggregation, and integration workflows across multiple sources.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance tuning to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to support operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to data pipelines and Java applications .
• Document technical designs, architecture, and data workflows for future reference and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java , with deep understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python and PySpark in big data environments.
• Experience with Databricks , Spark , and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deploying data workloads.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redshift, etc.).
• Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data modeling .
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Kafka or other streaming platforms for real-time data processing.
• Exposure to machine learning pipelines or MLOps workflows.
• Experience in performance optimization of large-scale distributed systems.
