POSITION: Maintenance Technician

JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly

DEPARTMENT: Operations LOCATION: Operations/Field

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The function of a Maintenance Technician is to provide comprehensive maintenance service on all aspects of a Waffle House restaurant.
• Maintenance Technicians will spend their time at assigned Waffle House restaurants.
• The typical work schedule is based on a 40-hour work week. Hours being from 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday (8-hour days), with a rotating schedule of on-call duty for weekends, nights and holidays.
• Changes in work hours will be determined by the Division Manager.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

• Install & repair restaurant equipment such as gas grills, waffle bakers, toasters, coffee machines, dish machine, refrigeration, hand dryers, HVAC, etc.
• Electrical work including light fixture repair, electrical outlets, switches, plug replacement, etc.
• Plumbing repairs including keeping drains clean/unclogged, repair water lines, replacing toilets, sinks and faucets, etc.
• HVAC – Waffle House restaurants have three to five roof-top HVAC units between two- and five-tons capacity.
• Replace doors, inside window blinds, seating upholstery, floor and wall tile, painting, etc.
• Roof repair including fixing leaks, roof flashing, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge Area/Skills/Licenses/Certifications/Education :

• Refrigeration Certified Type II or Universal (2 HP or higher required)
• HVAC repair for units up to 5 ton
• Basic Plumbing
• Basic Electrical Building Wiring (low voltage, 120/208 volt, single and three phase service)
• Current driver license and insurance

Abilities :

• Climb and Work off a ladder
• Lift capability of 50 pounds
• Use small power tools & hand tools.
• Drive a company owned vehicle (typically a van)
