Job Description

Summary:
The Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) will work as part of the Strategic Insights team to turn data into actionable information for caregivers. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team of BI Developers and Sr. Developers in delivering innovative analytics solutions that support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day team operations, prioritizing tasks, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of BI deliverables. Working with the Director, Strategic Insights the Manager will play a key role in evolving analytic capabilities across the enterprise, advancing the organization’s data strategy, fostering innovation, and promoting a culture of data-driven excellence.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data science.
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a BI or analytics team.
- Proven experience in designing and deploying BI solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Epic Clarity, and Qlik Sense.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL processes.
- Experience working with healthcare data and familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic) preferred.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data quality and integrity.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Epic Certification in Clarity/Caboodle Data Model preferred.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst, Fabrics Analytics Engineer, or Fabrics Data Engineer preferred.
- Certification in data governance or related areas (e.g., CDMP, DM-BOK) is a plus.
Essential Functions:
1. BI Team Leadership & Management2. Supervise and mentor BI Developers and Sr. BI Developers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
3. Manage daily team operations, including task assignments, workload balancing, and performance monitoring.
4. Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align priorities.
5. Provide regular updates to the Director, Strategic Insights on team status.

- Project & Task Prioritization1. Oversee the intake, scoping, prioritization, and tracking of BI requests and projects.
2. Ensure timely delivery of analytics solutions that meet business needs and quality standards.
3. Coordinate with the Director, Strategic Insights to align team efforts with organizational goals.

- Stakeholder Engagement1. Serve as a liaison between the BI team and internal stakeholders, including clinical, operational, and technical leaders.
2. Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into actionable analytics initiatives.
3. Communicate project status, timelines, and outcomes clearly and effectively.

- Analytics Strategy & Oversight1. Work with the Director, Strategic Insights to align and evolve team capabilities in line with the strategic goals of the organization.
2. Guide the development and deployment of dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics solutions.
3. Aligning with the enterprise data strategy, ensure consistency in data modeling, visualization standards, and documentation across the team.
4. Promote alignment with the overall enterprise data strategy and industry best practices in analytics design, performance optimization, and user experience.

- Data Governance & Quality Assurance1. Support the Data Governance team and data governance initiatives by enforcing standards for data integrity, security, and compliance.
2. Collaborate with IT, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
3. Monitor and improve data quality processes, including validation, cleansing, and enrichment.

- Innovation & Advanced Analytics1. Encourage the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies (e.g., AI, machine learning, cloud analytics).
2. Oversee the development of predictive models and other advanced analytics use cases.
3. Evaluate the impact of analytics solutions and recommend enhancements.

- Documentation & Training1. Ensure comprehensive documentation of BI solutions, processes, and governance protocols.
2. Promote data literacy and provide training to stakeholders on BI tools and data interpretation.
