Are you a strategic storyteller and thought leader with a passion for building, enhancing, and protecting brand reputation? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your expertise influences multiple brands and business units? If so, read on!

The QUIKRETE® Companies is the largest manufacturer of packaged concrete and cement mixes in North America, and an innovative leader in the building and home improvement industries.

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Communications and Public Relations to lead communications, PR initiatives, and tactics across our diverse portfolio of industry-leading brands, including QUIKRETE, Rinker Materials, Best Block, Pavestone, Custom Building Products, and others. This shared services role supports multiple business units, ensuring a strategic vision for brand reputation and messaging.

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications of the Quikrete Companies, this leader will develop and execute communications strategies that further establish QUIKRETE and its brands as an innovative industry thought leader while also managing proactive and reactive communications, publicity, issues management, crisis response, social media, brand identity, and community relations.

Why We Feel This Opportunity Is Unique:

  • Brand Leadership – Own, refine, and protect the voice of QUIKRETE and its brands, ensuring clear, compelling, and consistent messaging.
  • Crisis Communications Expertise – Proactively prepare, guide, and lead crisis response efforts to protect company and brand reputation.
  • Community Impact – Partner with executives and business leaders to enhance local outreach and engagement.
  • Strategic Storytelling – As necessary, serve as the lead writer and messaging architect for senior executives, stakeholders, and corporate communications.
  • Cross-Brand Influence – Work across a diverse set of brands, each with a unique market presence and communication strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership: Develop and implement communications and PR strategies that position QUIKRETE and its brands as trusted industry leaders while providing insights on emerging trends, reputation management, and industry issues.
  • Enterprise-Wide Communications Management: Lead a shared services communications function, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment across multiple brands, business units, and platforms.
  • Public Relations & Crisis Management: Provide expert guidance on public relations, crisis communications, and community outreach, including proactively promoting QUIKRETE and its brands, monitoring media coverage, and implementing crisis response plans to protect the company’s reputation.
  • Executive & Corporate Messaging: Partner with senior leaders to shape brand narratives and corporate positioning, crafting executive messaging that aligns with company values and business objectives.
  • Brand & Identity Management: Establish and uphold brand identity standards to maintain consistency across all external communications.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Develop tools, policies, and procedures to streamline and enhance communication efforts organization wide.
  • Work on-site, five days a week in a dynamic, collaborative office environment.

What You Bring:

  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or brand management.
  • Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Strategic and creative mindset—able to drive results in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong business acumen—understand how communications impact brand performance and reputation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization.

Even Better If You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience a communications and/or public relations leader.
  • Knowledge of the cement and concrete industry or related fields.

If you’re a communications pro who thrives on storytelling, brand strategy, and reputation management, we’d love to hear from you!
