Job Description

Bamboo is one of the region’s largest coworking communities. Our mission is to build an ecosystem for Michigan’s creatives, entrepreneurs and forward-thinking companies. We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager of Events and Sales to oversee all rentals for our venues at Grand Rapids, located at 2 Fulton. 

Bamboo at 2 Fulton is more than a venue -- it’s a hub for creativity and celebration in an iconic gallery space. You’ll oversee the rental and event execution of the following unique spaces: a 200 person theater, an indoor art gallery space, and an outdoor rooftop patio. We aim to host everything from corporate summits to special events, including weddings and celebrations.

Manager of Events and Sales - Success at Bamboo 

In this role, you’ll get to design the launch and growth of our venue located at the iconic 2 Fulton (former UICA building) in the heart of Downtown Grand Rapids, a vibrant hub for the community. You’ll be the engine behind our event venue growth prospecting, closing, and coordinating successful events. An ideal team member for this role is passionate about hospitality and thrives in busy environments. 

Event Venue Sales 

  • Drive Venue Sales. Oversee all sales across our full venue portfolio, including corporate events, weddings, and social or community gatherings. Respond to inbound inquiries, conduct tours, and close deals with a hospitality mindset. 

  • Meet Sales Goals. Work with the leadership team to set sales goals monthly and quarterly to meet and exceed expectations. 

  • Cultivate Partnerships. Represent the brand at all local networking events, expos and industry events in order to build key relationships within the Grand Rapids creative and hospitality community.

  • Launch Venue Re-opening. Help us to set up the venues, weighing in on key important decisions such as branding, launch events, staging and placemaking, and collaborative partners to engage with for a special opening in late 2025.

Event Coordination & Management 

  • Manage relationships. Develop and manage relationships with clients, vendors, planners and community partners that collaborate and work together with our venue. 

  • Coordinate Operations. Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless execution and memorable guest experience, including scheduling of staff needs, confirming and communicating all event logistics, and ensuring a smooth day of execution.

Ideal Team Member

  • Has 3+ years of event sales experience (ideally in hospitality, event production or venue management)

Compensation & Perks 

  • Total Target Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 annual salary range
  • Base salary of $45,000 salary a year 
  • Uncapped bonus potential, averaging $25-35K annually
