We are seeking an expert-level Mandarin linguist to support our operations in a key area of interest. As a critical member of our team, you will leverage your exceptional language skills and cultural expertise to translate complex documents, facilitate communication during high-stakes meetings, and provide nuanced analysis to inform strategic decision-making. In this exciting opportunity, you will contribute your linguistic expertise to drive our mission forward, working collaboratively with a dynamic team of professionals in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate operational documents with high accuracy
  • Provide in-person, real time translations to facilitate communication
  • Ensure language barriers do not hinder effective communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, management and outside stakeholders
  • Provide cultural insights and context to teams to help navigate cultural and linguistic nuances

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated fluency in Mandarin language skills including speaking, reading and writing
  • Professional translation experience and the ability to live-translate with native fluency
  • Experience translating documents with technical themes
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to deliver highly accurate translations and interpretations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Short term travel may be required as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working on the China topic
  • Experience with technical topics

Education Requirement:
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

Experience Requirement:
  • 11+ years of experience

A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
