Job Summary

  • De-burr, file, sand, blend, and clean, components/parts in accordance with company quality and production standards
  • File, sand, de-burr on all types of metal
  • Perform assigned duties using manual, pneumatic and electric hand tools and machines;
  • Manipulate work piece or tool manually;
  • Develop and/or recommend techniques for Class A rework without fillers
  • Inspect and measure work piece to verify conformance to specifications
  • Work in a fast paced environment while keeping up with production demands
  • Train Press line, Assembly, Quality and 3rd party inspectors on Defect Recognition and Surface Requirements
  • Document daily rework according to company standards
  • Promote all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment according to 5S methods
  • Follow standardized work instructions.
  • Follow safety procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Self-directed and team oriented with demonstrated use of planning and problem solving skills.
  • Apply company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualitifactions and educational requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited learning institution.

Preferred skill set

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Manufacturing, Automotive industry preferred;
  • Previous automotive metal fabrication preferred;
  • Experience with metal forming preferred;
  • Previous welding experience preferred;
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Physical & Mental Requirements of the Position

  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.
  • Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and 25 pounds overhead.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Good hearing is required.
  • Good dexterity with hands and good hand-eye coordination.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand.
  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Handle the stress of a fast-paced environment.
