Job Overview

Drilling Rig Operator to operate a late model GEFCO Speedstar 50K-CH (Casing Hammer) and ensure high quality standards and safe work practices. The position will report to either one SoCal office/ yard in Long Beach or Bloomington.

A sign-on bonus of $5K is authorized to fill this position. The sign-on bonus payments should be 50% paid upon hire with a balance paid out at 6 months.

Job Summary and Duties

• Responsibilities include operating a late model GEFCO Speedstar 50K-CH drill rig.
• Support equipment includes a Flattank 2,500 Gallon Water Truck and Mud Technologies 1400 RST Mud System.
• Conduct routine maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues that may arise during drilling operations.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate safe and efficient drilling operations.
• Operate forklifts, backhoes and skid steers as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of drilling operations and submit paperwork daily.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and complete all necessary safety training. Record, communicate and manage all maintenance and repairs needed on equipment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years proven experience in drilling operations with Mud/Air Rotary/ARCH capabilities.
• Valid Class A California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Background checks are required.
• Strict Zero Tolerance drug policies.
• Positive, safety conscious, “Can Do” attitude is required.
• Must be willing to work longer shifts, weekends, and out of town.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various types of drilling equipment.
• Familiarity with various drilling techniques is a plus.
• Must be physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work long hours outdoors in all conditions.
• Willingness to work hard, and travel for work.
• Willingness to perform both shops based and field-based work.
