Job Description

Network Systems Engineer – Managed Services

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Network Systems Engineer to join our managed services team. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and support complex network and systems infrastructures, ensuring high availability and security. This role involves virtualization, migrations, and delivering top-tier technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and deploy network solutions (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems).
  • Manage and maintain virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Perform network and systems security management, including firewalls and access controls.
  • Plan and execute system migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and systems issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Monitor network and systems performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for technology implementations.
  • Document configurations and procedures, ensuring accurate records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managed services environment.
  • 3+ years in Network and Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
  • Experience with major network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
  • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, VMware VCP) are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with system migrations and hybrid cloud integrations.
  • Automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network and systems tasks.
