Proposal Writer/Coordinator

SB Ballard Construction is seeking an eloquent and persuasive Proposal Writer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will craft compelling proposals that effectively communicate our value, align with client needs, and help us win new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, tailored proposals in response to RFPs, and RFQs.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, business development, and leadership to gather relevant content and insights.
• Translate complex information into clear, engaging, and persuasive narratives.
• Maintain consistency in tone, style, and branding across all written materials.
• Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Working with the design team to create graphics and visuals for projects.
• Creating presentation slide decks for project interviews.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience writing winning proposals, preferably in construction for federal, state, and local government contracts.
• General understanding of construction terminology, means and methods, and construction contract types.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize diverse inputs into a cohesive and compelling narrative.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency with proposal management tools, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Must reside within commuting distance of S. B. Ballard’s main office in Virginia Beach, VA.
• Construction or Engineering: 4 years (Preferred)
• Proposal writing: 4 years (Preferred)
• PowerPoint: 4 years (Preferred)
• SharePoint: 4 years (Preferred)
