This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity (NOT contract).

Responsibilities of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical evaluations for substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment teams and work collaboratively with other disciplines in planning for the treatment of their patients
  • Medication management to include but not limited to Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Assess the clinical appropriateness of admissions and collaborate with the referral and intake department.
  • Work with attending psychiatrists in caring for patients and perform psychiatric assessments and provide ongoing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Provide individual therapy and/or medication management as needed for patients under their care
  • Create individualized plans using evidence-based practices, including therapy and medication management.
  • Complete all documentation requirements legibly and within appropriate timeframes
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA standards.

Qualifications of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

  • Unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York
  • Must be licensed as a PMHNP
  • DEA required
  • Experience working with patients ranging in age from 13 and up preferred
  • Experience working with co-occurring disorders (mental health and addiction)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Annual salary starts around $180K but can be considerably more based on years of experience
  • Monday - Friday with the ability to be flexible with schedule
  • Relocation assistance offered up to a certain amount with proof of receipts
