SUMMARY:

Reports directly to the Director of Procurement. Responsible to audit and ensure participation in Corporate Purchasing initiatives, identify and implement cost savings opportunities, review system data including product costs, and provide branch buyers system training and technical support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance and reasonable participation in preferred vendor programs.
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
  • Review buying opportunities as it pertains to:
  • quantity brackets
  • order frequency
  • Direct versus redistribution
  • Provide technical support, system training and company process coaching to the branch buyer.
  • Ensure proper training and implementation of MARS Purchasing Forecast system
  • Support multi branch sales opportunities.
  • Assist with sourcing needs.
  • Assist with SKU review and rationalization.
  • Treat all customers (both internal and external) and vendors with respect, courtesy and kindness.
  • Uphold and comply with policies, procedures and attitudes adopted by the company for procurement.
  • Accept responsibility to think about how my actions and actions of my associates affect our customers and company.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.

  • Complete other duties as assigned to reach company goals.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Compensation:

The starting salary range for this position is $75,000, with final compensation based on experience and qualifications.
