Your Role

As a Regional Purchasing Category Manager, you will develop and implement cost reduction strategies, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with stakeholders in Software Development, HR, and Engineering (DE). Your expertise in contract negotiation, cost analysis, and strategic sourcing will play a key role in achieving financial efficiencies across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Professional Services and IT/Software purchasing strategy and cost reduction efforts
  • Develop indirect spend synergy strategies across the AM region
  • Manage and support cost reduction projects and maintain a cost-saving database
  • Negotiate contracts and establish long-term supplier relationships
  • Conduct market analysis, cost analysis, and strategic quoting activities
  • Provide updates and reports on category activities to Global Category Manager (GCM)
  • Collaborate with regional sites to track and progress cost-saving initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (or Associate Degree with 5+ years of experience)
  • 5-10 years of procurement experience in a related field
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large datasets (costs, supplier proposals)
  • Strong negotiation, contract analysis, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint proficiency for reporting and analysis
  • Experience leading cost-reduction initiatives and supplier strategies
  • Strong communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • High ethical standards and knowledge of contract law
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for supplier engagement
