About Horton Benefits Company (HBC)

Horton Benefits Company works directly with businesses to consult and deliver health insurance and other benefits for their employees. HBC was founded in 2017 and is a growing company seeking motivated, entry level Interns eager to learn the insurance industry. In your position, you will be responsible for identifying prospective clients and seeking to foster long-term relationships. Our Summer Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for college students to make an immediate impact and define a long-term career path.

The Internship Role

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in insurance training and absorb valuable industry insight
  • Shadow team members from all departments
  • Manage a daily log of outbound calls – high call volume
  • Organize professional communications and timely follow-ups
  • Obtain company information on prospective clients
  • Arrange follow up calls/meetings for Business Development Managers
  • Earn an opportunity to be considered at the end of the internship for a full-time position

Qualifications:

  • Junior or Senior in College with Business or other related majors
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Self-motivated and ambitious
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Team player with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Competitive
  • Positive attitude
