Job Description

JCW Has Partnered with an established regional bank looking to add a skilled Credit Risk Review specialist to their team.

In this role, you will be tasked with leading and managing projects focused on analyzing segments of the loan portfolio and assessing the quality of credit approval decisions. Emphasis is placed on evaluating the effectiveness of loan underwriting, structuring, monitoring, risk rating accuracy, and strategies for workout and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead pre-review planning and discovery meetings with credit risk and line management, and present key findings to senior leadership.
• Manage a pipeline of complex and technical loan transactions, ensuring quality and consistency in credit risk evaluation.
• Function as Reviewer-In-Charge (RIC), overseeing the full review cycle from fieldwork through reporting.
• Perform continuous monitoring of assigned loan portfolios or segments to identify and address emerging risks.
• Evaluate the credit delivery infrastructure that supports both credit decisions and ongoing portfolio management.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of loan documentation, credit fundamentals, and financial statement analysis.
• Strong expertise in commercial loan origination, underwriting, servicing, and monitoring practices.
• Exceptional understanding of federal banking regulations related to lending and risk management.
• Proven ability to analyze complex commercial real estate and commercial & industrial loan transactions.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Coming from a bank with an AUM of $20 billion or more.
• Strong background and understanding of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans.
• Workout & Recovery loan experience is a huge plus.
