Position Summary Oversees the total operation of the Lakewood branch, including board development, membership growth and retention, marketing, programs, facilities, staff development, financial development, community relations, and collaborations. Engages, inspires, and builds commitment to the Y cause with volunteers, members, and staff. Provides financial management that sustains the Y’s nonprofit business model while maximizing growth potential. Exhibits dynamic leadership that drives a strong commitment to achieving goals in a manner that delivers a consistent quality experience. Recognizes and acts on the need to continually develop others to attain the highest level of performance possible. Demonstrates in word and action the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and a commitment to the Y’s mission, in all matters at all times.
Essential Functions 1. Coordinates the development of the Branch Board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
2. Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
3. Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
4. Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
5. Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
6. Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
7. Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
8. Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
9. Directs branch marketing and communication efforts.
10. Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.

Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
2. Nine or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency with a $6+ Million budget.
3. Ability to direct total operations with minimal supervision through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
4. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
5. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations
6. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
7. YMCA Branch Leader certificate required within three years from date of hire.
8. CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Working Conditions Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. kitchen and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
