Job Description

IAF manufactures fasteners for the automotive industry. We are searching for hard-working individuals to join our team as Shipping and Receiving Team Members.

Overtime is required when mandated. All positions will train on first shift before going to the off shift. We are 24-hour/day operation.

Starting pay is $21.00/hour plus shift premium when working those hours:
  • $1.00/hour (2nd shift)
  • $2.00/hour (3rd shift)

What we'll do together.

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties. Ensures that customer requirements are followed while preparing shipments. The Team Member must follow all safety and work policy requirements while performing job duties. Each team member must be in compliance with quality and delivery expectations in order to maintain and/or reduce cost.
  • Order Post for shipment
  • Go to final storage location on customer label
  • Do a 2 or 3 point scan on AIAG label, location, and in house Kanban if 3 point scan same as 2 point scan plus customer label
  • Based on shipping procedures, unload products from the storage location address
  • Carry the unloaded products on electric carriage to the shipping packing area to place them on pallet, following packing procedure
  • Package pallets based on packaging standards per customer
  • Support forklift operator upon necessity
  • Ability to read and understand a Kanban and match part to Kanban
  • Able to use calipers for measuring parts (as needed)
  • Moving Parts into final storage location
  • Processing returned packaging
  • Finalize orders for shipments
  • Safety-minded individual who is willing to maintain equipment
  • Willing to acquire knowledge on all equipment necessary to perform the duties

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of six months of related experience or a one-year certificate from a technical school (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Must pass a Hazmat physical. (Will be performed within 2 weeks of employment)
  • Okay training on 1st shift (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) then transferring to either weekend days or weekend nights.
  • Troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift containers up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Capability to work with various chemicals, such as zinc, caustic, and acids.
  • Willingness to work 12+ hour shifts, including weekends.

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and work with fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Capable of interpreting instructions in various formats, including written, oral, or diagram-based.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift 25lbs to 100 pounds (occasionally).
  • Frequent hand use, including fine manipulation, and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
