Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Mobile React Native Test Automation

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with deep expertise in React Native and test automation . This role is critical in advancing our mobile and web capabilities for eCommerce pickup and delivery. You will serve as a quality champion, automation expert, and cross-team testing coordinator.

What You’ll Be Doing

Drive Quality and Automation Strategy

• Coach developers, product owners, and scrum masters on automation best practices.
• Pair program with developers to mentor and upskill on automation tools and techniques.
• Identify gaps in automation coverage and build tooling to support development teams.
• Train teams on writing and validating clear, testable acceptance criteria.

Design and Execute End-to-End Testing

• Collaborate during initiative refinement to ensure clarity in acceptance criteria.
• Architect detailed test plans for multi-team end-to-end flows.
• Develop automated tests for React Native apps and CMS-driven content workflows.
• Perform exploratory testing and validate user experience across platforms.
• Provide sign-off for production readiness and support release validation.

Maintain Shared Automation Frameworks

• Enhance and refactor shared test automation libraries and tools.
• Implement dynamic test data generation, API mocking, and CMS content validation.
• Ensure robust CI/CD integration for automated testing pipelines.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software development and 5+ years in test automation.
• Expertise in React Native development and testing.
• Experience with Payload CMS , Contentful , or similar headless CMS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of automation tools/frameworks:
• Playwright , Detox , Maestro , Jest , Vitest
• Proficiency in multiple languages:
• TypeScript , Swift , Kotlin , Java , C# , Python
• Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile experience; SAFe certification preferred.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and assertiveness to influence product owners and stakeholders.
• Ability to coach and mentor developers on automation practices.
• Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and driving clarity.
• Ability to establish trust and confidence across teams.
