Position Overview:

Onward Search is looking for a dedicated and passionate 6th Grade Special Education Co-Teacher (English) to join a school in Philadelphia, PA for a full-time, in-person position. This role starts in early March and continues through the end of the school year, with potential renewal for the next academic year.

Details You Should Know:

• Location: In-person (no hybrid/remote options)
• Schedule: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 37.5-40 hours/week
• Caseload: Co-teaching English in a 6th-grade classroom

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the general education teacher to provide specialized instruction and support in an inclusive English classroom.
• Adapt and modify lesson plans to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies for behavior management and student engagement.
• Work closely with parents, support staff, and school administrators to create a positive learning environment.
• Assist in classroom accommodations and differentiation to ensure all students have access to the curriculum.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification
• Experience co-teaching or working in an inclusive classroom setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP implementation and progress monitoring.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
