Job Description

Motion Recruitment has partnered with a Dallas Client and are seeking a skilled GIS Developer to join their delivery team, where you'll play a key role in building and maintaining interactive web applications tailored to their expanding client base. The ideal candidate will have expertise in full-stack development, geospatial solutions, and best practices for application architecture. You’ll collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless development and deployment of innovative solutions.

This position is 100% onsite and require a in-person interview.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within a team, maintaining clear communication across project phases.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom geospatial applications to meet business needs.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them effectively in solutions.
  • Participate in defining project requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and effort estimation.
  • Contribute to agile development processes with a cross-functional team.
  • Deliver exceptional service and support to clients, ensuring high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing geospatial applications.
  • Strong understanding of application architecture and best coding practices.
  • Experience with relational database design and management.
  • Proficiency in building RESTful services using ASP.NET Core or Python.
  • Hands-on experience in full-stack development, including SQL, C#, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of working with linear-referenced data.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JSX, and Google Maps API.
  • Solid understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and cloud technologies.
