Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a Recycling Company , who is actively hiring a Paper Plant Leader to join their Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. This is a hands-on position leading teams, training & developing, increasing efficiencies, and customer satisfaction oriented — ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and wants to grow a company through internal operations.

Paper Plant Leader Benefits:

• Competitive salary : $23-25/hour
• Monday–Friday : 8 AM – 4:30 PM
• Strategic Management Opportunity : review plant operations, identify bottleneck challenges, increase efficiencies, and drive organizational change through constructive leadership.

Paper Plant Leader Responsibilities:

• Performance : Work with the Operations Manager to identify areas for improvement and develop plan to enhance overall plant performance.
• Grading Material : Help team members, as needed, with the evaluation and grading of incoming papers material to ensure compliance with quality standards and proper recycling processes. Provide guidance to team members on classification and sorting and blending techniques.
• Team Support: Provide leadership and support to plant staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed. Foster a culture of teamwork and servant leadership.
• Shipping and Receiving: Provide support as needed to shipping and receiving production, ensuring timely and accurate processing of materials. This includes loading and unloading semi-trailers with a forklift.
• Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in operating equipment such as forklifts and skid steers to facilitate material handling and contribute to production efficiency.
• Cross Training: Support the Operations Manager with cross-training team members to enhance their skills and create a versatile team capable of working in many areas of plant production.
• Customer Centered Focus: Have a customer focused mindset within the team, emphasizing the importance of delivering quality products and services to meet customer expectations.
• Front Office Support: Proficient operation of client POS/ERP, semi-truck scale and production of shipping and receiving documents.

Paper Plant Leader Qualifications:

To be considered for the Plant Operations Manager role, applicants should:

• Have experience in production operations with a strong understanding of recycling products (preferably paper recycling experience)
• Be familiar with heavy machinery such as hilo, skid steer
• Possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Be tech-savvy, process-driven, and able to multitask across teams
