Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tool Shop Manager to oversee our tooling operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management and possess exceptional skills in inventory management, employee orientation, and customer service. This role requires a leader who can effectively manage teams, ensure operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement within the tooling department.

Duties

• Manage all aspects of tooling operations, including procurement, inventory control, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Supervise and train staff to ensure high levels of performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Oversee the budgeting process for tooling expenditures and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices.
• Conduct employee orientations, interviews, and ongoing training & development programs to enhance team capabilities.
• Implement effective inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on production goals and timelines.
• Utilize strong negotiation skills to manage vendor relationships and secure favorable terms for purchasing tools and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, payroll, and other administrative tasks related to tooling operations.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional growth.

Skills

• Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in bilingual or multilingual communication being a plus.
• Proficient in inventory management systems and retail math principles.
• Solid understanding of retail sales processes including pricing strategies, merchandising techniques, and customer service excellence.
• Capable of handling cash transactions accurately with experience in cashiering roles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in recruiting top talent through effective interviewing techniques.
• Knowledgeable in bookkeeping practices related to payroll management.
• Familiarity with POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
