Job Description

A leading financial services firm headquartered in McLean, VA is currently seeking a UX Content / Conversation Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role supporting strategic AI and conversational design initiatives, focused on creating user-centric chatbot and IVR experiences.

About the Opportunity:

Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid - 10+ days/month onsite at McLean, VA HQ
Schedule: Standard business hours
Setting: Financial services / enterprise technology
Contract Type: W-2 or C2C accepted

Responsibilities:
The UX Content / Conversation Designer will be responsible for:

Designing end-to-end conversation flows for chatbot, IVR, and other conversational interfaces
Writing and editing natural, user-friendly conversational content that aligns with brand voice
Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to develop and implement conversation strategies
Leveraging user data and testing feedback to optimize conversational experiences
Defining intents, utterances, and dialog logic for NLU platforms
Helping to create and maintain internal design guidelines and documentation
Promoting accessibility and inclusive language in all conversational touchpoints

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in conversation design or UX content creation
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, or a related field
Strong portfolio of conversational work (chat, voice, or multimodal)
Proficiency in platforms like Dialogflow, Rasa, IBM Watson, or Voiceflow
Strong understanding of UX principles, design thinking, and accessibility best practices
Excellent writing and editing skills with an ear for natural language
Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative environments
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Self-starter with the ability to handle ambiguity and evolving requirements

Desired Skills:

Experience in the financial services or fintech industry
Background in linguistics, UX research, or technical writing
Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Jira, or Confluence
Curiosity and empathy when designing for diverse users
