Job Description

Web UX Copywriter (contract)

Hybrid role in San Francisco, in office 3x/week

40 hours/week

Pay TBD ~$50-$65/hr. depending on experience

We're looking for a Web UX Copywriter who blends creativity with precision—someone who can craft clear, concise, and compelling digital copy that guides, delights, and informs. You’ll work at the intersection of brand voice and user behavior, writing content that improves the customer journey and elevates the digital experience across web platforms.

This role requires deep empathy for users, a strong grasp of UX principles, and the ability to write clean, actionable copy that helps people accomplish their goals while staying true to our brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write UX and interface copy for web pages, landing pages, navigation, CTAs, forms, and tooltips
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, developers, and brand teams to shape user flows and messaging
  • Translate technical information and product features into user-friendly, benefit-focused language
  • Ensure copy aligns with brand voice and tone while optimizing for clarity, accessibility, and usability
  • Participate in wireframing sessions, content audits, and A/B testing initiatives
  • Partner with SEO and analytics teams to support content optimization and performance tracking
  • Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of the content style guide and UX writing best practices

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in UX, product, or web copywriting—ideally in fintech, consumer tech, or digital products
  • Strong portfolio of UX or web content that shows clarity, voice, and user-centered thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Figma, design systems, and content management tools
  • Understanding of accessibility, SEO fundamentals, and UX writing standards
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience writing for financial products or regulated industries
  • Have worked in agile, cross-functional product teams
  • Love testing, iterating, and continuously improving content based on data and user feedback
