Job DescriptionThe purpose of this job is to safely weld in all position according to company specifications and standard work.
Job duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free operations.
Hand weld all plain and alloy structural steel in all positions.
Use of jib or gantry crane to manually position weld equipment.
Grind and dress fabricated weldments.
May operate forklift, scissor lift and area lift to access weldments.
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of FCAW and experience with 10+ multi-pass welds on heavy 2" plate.
Experience with back gouging, carbon arcing or air arcing.
Must pass 3 weld qualification tests using FCAW large diameter wire (3/32 and .052).

Understanding of quality requirements and ability to execute.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
Ability to work overtime to support production demands.
Additional Information:
This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee, WI.
2nd and 3rd shift available
Pay is Step 1 $30.75 Step 2 $31.94 Step 3 $33.12 hr plus an additional $1.00 shift premium for 2nd or 3rd Shift
Full Time (40 hours, 5 days/week)

Summary Pay Range:
$28.54 - $35.67Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
