As a Designer, you will collaborate across various departments, including Graphic Design, Sales, and Merchandising, to craft and shape seasonal apparel lines that align with the overarching brand objectives. Your role encompasses a range of responsibilities to ensure the successful development and execution of design processes. Here are the key accountabilities:
- **Market Research:** Conduct thorough research to identify trends in the marketplace related to style, fit, and color, contributing to the formulation and maintenance of a cohesive brand strategy.
- **CAD Sketching:** Create detailed CAD sketches for styles in development, illustrating your creative vision for the seasonal apparel lines.
- **Technical Pack Creation:** Generate tech packs as needed to support the design process. Review and approve all technical packs to guarantee the accuracy of product development.
- **Project Management:** Oversee the entire design process, from creation to execution, aligning each step with the overall brand strategy and merchandise objectives within your functional area.
- **Communication and Coordination:** Ensure the design team is well-informed about major milestones and deadlines, including fabric requests and sourcing timelines. Regularly communicate with Sales and Merchandising teams to discuss line development progress and share feedback.
- **Fitting Meetings:** Attend all fitting meetings, providing valuable feedback to ensure that design intentions are accurately captured in the final product.
- **Collaborative Efforts:** Work closely with Graphic Designers, Sales, and Merchandising teams to prepare line reviews and presentation materials for market and corporate brand meetings.
- **Catalog Management:** Oversee the creation and maintenance of seasonal design catalogs, ensuring accuracy in information and reflecting any necessary changes.
- **Information Accuracy:** Ensure that Design Operations and Sourcing have the most accurate information on line development, overseeing the implementation of changes.
- **Style Approval:** Review and approve styles, materials, trims, and colors, effectively communicating approvals to relevant cross-functional teams.
- **Team Management:** Manage, train, and develop Associate and Assistant Designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- **Sampling Communication:** Participate in sampling communication between the sample room, Design, and cross-functional teams as needed.
- **Special Projects:** Undertake special projects as assigned, showcasing your ability to adapt and contribute to diverse initiatives within the organization.
