As a Surgical Technologist at Kettering Health, you’ll be the go-to person for ensuring every surgery goes smoothly! Under the direction of the RN and surgeon, you’ll be selecting, setting up, and passing sterile instruments like a pro. But that's just the beginning!

• Master of Specimens: Properly label and handle patient specimens like the organized rockstar you are.
• Surgical Skills Guru: Perform Surgical Technologist skills with confidence, staying within the unit’s scope of practice.
• Clutter Buster: Keep the surgical environment spotless and safe—no tripping hazards on your watch!
• Team Player: Respond to delegated tasks efficiently and never overstep into tasks that aren’t assigned by a licensed nurse or physician.
• Cool Under Pressure: Stay calm and react swiftly to emergency situations like the healthcare hero you are.
• Infection Control Champion: Follow safe infection control practices to protect patients and staff.
• Procedure Sidekick: Assist nurses and physicians during patient procedures with a positive attitude.
• Mentor-in-Training: Take on preceptor activities when needed, helping others learn the ropes.
• Lifelong Learner: Participate in at least one elective educational opportunity to keep your skills sharp.
• Aseptic Technique Pro: Show off your knowledge of aseptic techniques to prep for and assist in surgical procedures.
• OR Prep Expert: Set up the OR table and scrub in for surgeries with precision and care.
• Supply Whisperer: Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Equipment Ace: Learn and operate specialized equipment used in the OR like a tech wizard.
• Patient Care Assistant: Help with preoperative and postoperative care as directed by the RN.
• Transport Star: Lend a hand with patient transport and other OR duties, always ready to jump in where needed.

One of these is required:

• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from a NBSTA accredited program or certification from NCCT;
• Four (4) years of experience as a surgical technologist with a High School Diploma;
• Four (4) years applicable on the job or military surgical technology training with a High School Diploma

Certified Surgical Technologist required within one year of hire, if hired without certification.

Associate degree is required.

Pay: $25.51 - $35.72 per hour.

Schedule:

8/10/12 hour shifts - depending on unit

On call rotation required
