Job Title: Interim Director of Professional Development

Location: Austin, TX

Pay: $90,000-$100,000K

Addison Group is partnering with a mission-driven organization seeking an experienced and forward-thinking interim leader to guide professional development initiatives. This individual will support internal teams, lead employee training efforts, and provide strategic insight to shape future growth. The position is ideal for someone passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments and developing scalable programs that meet organizational needs.

Job Description:

The Interim Director of Professional Development will be responsible for overseeing staff training and development initiatives, assessing program impact, and implementing enhancements across professional development functions during a 6-month appointment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small internal team with day-to-day support and strategic coaching
  • Maintain continuity of employee learning programs and related communications
  • Conduct training sessions for managers and other internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate existing development strategies and identify areas for improvement
  • Contribute to long-term planning efforts based on team capabilities and organizational needs
  • Help refine tools related to employee performance and feedback

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (HR, Education, or similar field)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience using Workday or similar HR platforms is a plus
  • Strong background in designing and evaluating training programs
  • Skilled in planning, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration
  • People-first leadership style with excellent communication abilities

Additional Details:

  • 6-month contract
  • 100% in-office (Austin, TX)
  • Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
  • Multi-step interview process (virtual and in-person)
