Strategic Financial Analyst | Houston, TX (In-Person)

About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Financial Analyst to join a rapidly growing organization at the forefront of low-carbon baseload power and industrial decarbonization projects, specifically in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Financial Analyst, you will:

  • Financial Modeling : Maintain and update detailed corporate and project-level financial models, including plant generation models and cash flows based on power market trends, capacity, and ancillary services.

  • Capital Planning & Budgeting : Play a key role in the capital planning process by assisting with budget updates, forecasts, and tracking actuals against projections.

  • Power Markets & Hedging : Analyze power market trends and develop hedging strategies for power and natural gas, focusing on pricing across various ISOs.

  • Business Development : Collaborate closely with management to create business development materials, including financial analyses, market research, and competitive evaluations.

  • Strategic Support : Provide financial support for strategic decisions, including preparing business cases and financial presentations for senior management and investors.

  • Market Research & Industry Analysis : Monitor industry trends and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Invoice Control & Engineering Support : Ensure invoices align with contract terms and assist the engineering team with deliverables for key meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Education : A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degrees are a plus.

  • Skills : Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools. Familiarity with power markets and hedging strategies is highly desirable.
