Job Title: Foundry Cleaning Room Supervisor

About: Maynard Steel Casting Company is a family-owned, non-union foundry that produces high-quality casting for the mining industry. We are looking for an experienced Foundry Cleaning Room Supervisor to join our team.

Position Summary: We are looking to hire a Foundry Cleaning Room Supervisor to oversee all aspects of foundry product cleaning operations, including tasks such as grinding, scarfing, welding, and other production processes. This role will also involve serving as a company ambassador during customer and supplier visits, as well as acting as a change agent to help advance the company and its initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of foundry operations, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement within the team.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for daily oversight of foundry cleaning operations by aligning daily and weekly business goals to meet safety, quality, delivery, and financial targets

  • Drive timely production and delivery of customer orders, monitor and communicate schedules
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet industry standards and meet customer expectations
  • Supports training programs to ensure employees are trained effectively and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all production procedures, and work instructions
  • Works with Environmental Health & Safety to maintain and enforce policies and procedures, which include applicable regulatory requirements
  • Serves as technical subject matter expert; point of contact for new products, including quality, and materials to optimize methods to meet product requirements
  • Reviews and adjusts roles, overtime, and headcount requirements to meet changing production needs and targets; evaluates performance of team regularly against job requirements

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a foundry environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in the design and manufacturing of low-carbon steel castings.
  • Proven track record of process improvements, with a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and influence teams, alongside strong business acumen.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with team members, customers, and suppliers.
