Athletic Equipment Installation Technician

Location: Birmingham, AL (Travel Required)

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Athletic Equipment Installer to oversee and perform the installation of ceiling-mounted basketball hoops and related overhead sports equipment. This role requires mechanical and structural expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work safely at heights. The ideal candidate will lead field crews, work closely with contractors, and ensure project completion with safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of ceiling-mounted basketball systems and other overhead athletic equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and architectural drawings to ensure accurate equipment placement.
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble and secure large-scale equipment.
  • Work at heights using lifts, scaffolding, and safety gear.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and structural challenges during installations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment installation, rigging, or construction.
  • Experience in gymnasium/sports facility construction and installation.
  • Ability to read blueprints/architectural drawings and take accurate measurements.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights with a strong understanding of safety protocols.
  • Experience leading installation teams or supervising construction projects.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Background in rigging, mechanical construction, or structural steel installation.
  • OSHA certification or relevant safety training.

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour + performance bonus
