Job Description

Our large oil and gas client is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to transform their current technician training program into a unified, competency-based, enterprise-wide learning system. This initiative will involve updating and customizing curricula to align with competency requirements across various job roles and business lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing training content and map it to the approved competency framework developed by the Learning Analyst.
• Design engaging learning experiences and collaborate with Developers on visuals and interactions.
• Develop detailed storyboards, including suggested images, interactions, and voice-over scripts.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance and subject matter experts to ensure content meets technical and competency requirements.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all learning materials.

Start Date: On and off throughout 2025

Duration: 6 months with the possibility to extend

Hours: 40 hours per week; standard business hours

Location: Virtual

Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
• Proficient in analysis and providing recommendations and best practices for blended learning solutions.
• Familiarity with adult learning principles and educational technologies.
• Proven experience designing training for highly technical content, particularly equipment-related topics.
• Industry experience in oil & gas, utilities, energy, or nuclear is required.
• Experience creating instructor-led training and eLearning using Articulate 360
• Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
• A strong portfolio of relevant work samples.
• Able to collaborate in a large team and work on two to three lessons at a time.

The pay range for this is $55.00 to $60.00 per hour W2. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
