Position: Full-Time Hourly Interpreter

Location: Remote to start, transitioning to in-office in Houston, TX (zip code 77056).

Pay Range: From $18 -28/hr

Job Type: Full Time

Job Description: As an interpreter at Big Language Solutions, you will provide interpreting services via telephone to our customers and their clients. We serve clients all over the country and offer services in over 240 languages and dialects. Our interpreters are crucial to our success, and we prioritize their job satisfaction and ability to provide for their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilitate understanding in communication by faithfully interpreting everything being said into the target language without adding, omitting, or changing anything.
Maintain impartiality and show no bias or preference toward either party while interpreting.
Interpret in the first form at all times, clarifying when necessary and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Be aware of cultural differences and explain them when appropriate.
Continuously improve interpreting skills and ethical performance, demonstrating the highest level of customer service.

Qualifications Required:

Fluency in Japanese.
At least 2 years of experience in medical and social interpretation.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Located in Houston, TX, and willing to commute to zip code 77056

Language Skills Required:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondences.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
